A members-first website for ISVG Nepal

ISVG Nepal is a non-profit that runs free life-skills training using the expertise of active and retired professionals. We designed and developed its website as the place to explain the organisation, publish its work and recruit members.

The client

International Scout Volunteer Group, Nepal (ISVG Nepal) is a registered social organisation in Kathmandu and part of the International Scout Volunteer Group. It is member-based: Nepali citizens who meet its criteria can apply to join, and the organisation spends its income on social welfare and its own development.

Its programmes are free training sessions and workshops, run in person and online, with priority for secondary and higher-secondary students. Recent updates on the site cover school training, a cyber crime awareness programme, a drug abuse awareness session and a blood donation drive.

This ISVG website case study covers the public site at isvg.org.np.

What they needed

A volunteer organisation lives on trust and on new members. Going by what the site has to do, it needed to:

  • Explain who ISVG Nepal is, with its founder, executive committee and board of directors on their own pages.
  • Turn interest into membership, with a clear “Become member” route and a login for existing members.
  • Publish programme updates and formal notices, including Nepali-language notices for general assemblies.
  • Give supporters a straightforward way to donate and to get in touch.

What we built

A WordPress site with a small, clear menu and a header that keeps the membership actions in view on every page.

Membership routes

“Become member” and “Membership login” sit in the main navigation and point to the organisation's membership portal. A separate mail login serves the team.

Organisation pages

About pages for ISVG, ISVG Nepal, the founder, the executive committee and the board, plus the vision and mission.

Updates and notices

Separate post streams for programme updates, events and notices, with a recent-posts sidebar. Posts run in English and Nepali.

Publications menu

Events, notices, the photo gallery and ISVG updates are grouped under one Publications menu, so visitors find the organisation's record of activity in one place.

Support and contact

A support page with bank transfer details, a contact form, a map, and phone, email, WhatsApp and Viber numbers in the footer.

Social feeds

The homepage pulls in recent blog posts and the organisation's X (Twitter) timeline, with links to Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

How we worked

Website projects follow the same five stages with us. Each one ends with something the client signs off before the next starts.

  1. Discovery

We agree who the site is for, which pages each audience needs and what content the client will supply.

  2. Design

Navigation and page structure come first. The visual design is applied once the structure is agreed.

  3. Build

Pages are built so the client's own team can edit content and publish updates without a developer.

  4. Launch

Forms, links and mobile layouts are checked before the site goes live on the client's domain.

  5. Handover

Admin access and editing guidance go to the client, so the site stays theirs to run.
